Enjoy Vancouver in the winter
February in Vancouver is often cool and wet, but there can be the occasional warm and sunny day. Temperatures typically range between 0 °C to 10 °C.
The meeting is being held downtown, so there is a lot to see and do outside of the meeting, such as a walk along the water front or stroll through Stanley Park. If you are able to spend a few days here before or after the workshop, the local ski hills will be in full swing (Cypress, Grouse and Seymour), where you can downhill ski, cross-country ski (Seymour and Cypress only) or snowshoe. If you want to go farther afield, Whistler is about 140 km north on the Sea-to-Sky highway. Be aware that driving times can vary considerably depending on the time of day and weather conditions.
Vancouver is home to a number of amazing local breweries. The Steamworks Brew Pub (375 Water St.) or Malone’s Social Lounge and Taphouse (608 W Pender St.) are both just down the street from the M.J. Wosk Centre, but there are many others to explore.
